Since the Bronc Rider and I are both retired from our day jobs, we decided to make a special effort to visit things close to us that we’ve always been too busy to see. A few weeks ago, we visited Leslie Gulch and Succor Creek located outside of the small town of Adrian, Oregon.
A few days ago, we took a couple of days and drove to central Oregon to the Steens Mountains. I was blown away by the stark beauty and the overwhelming size of the area.
The landscape ranges from the Alvord Ranch on the desert valley, one of the driest places in Oregon, to the peaks that are above the tree line. The day we were there, smoke from all the fires made the air hazy.
The next trip is planned for Hells Canyon.
